This book was recommended to me by a friend, and it did not disappoint. It’s a historical fiction based on the life of the main character named Pino Lella. Pino is an Italian teenager during World War II and soon starts helping Jews escape over the Alps. Shortly after, his parents force him to enlist in the German army to protect him, and he quickly becomes the driver for Hitler’s main general. As a spy, the story recounts his various tales, the horrors he witnessed, and the end of the war.
