Issue 23 - Happy New Year
In the rush of the holidays, I don’t have any longform topic prepared for today’s newsletter, and I didn’t want to share assorted links when I know you are all busy with family and celebration as well. The newsletter will continue with regular content in two weeks.
The only thing I will share today is an encouragement. People often take the New Year as an opportunity to begin developing new habits: working out, eating healthier, etc. I would encourage you to take some time in the next few days to pray and reflect on what God might be calling you to, and think about what steps you can take in 2025 to move in that direction. Maybe you don’t have 30 minutes for quiet time so you just skip it altogether. Instead, commit to reading your Bible for 5 minutes a day, and praying briefly when you wake up and when you go to sleep - even if it’s just the Lord’s Prayer, or just a brief prayer of thanksgiving. Maybe you know it’s time to take a concrete step like joining a small group or a service team at your church. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what spiritual disciplines you need to strengthen, what sins you need to be killing, or which steps of obedience you need to take, and then make a plan to follow where He leads.
Happy New Year from Christo et Doctrinae.
