When I started this email newsletter four years ago, I titled it “Irregular Updates.” I have never been more accurate in a title. (If you are curious as to how you ended up on this list, I will cover that in about five paragraphs.)
Three years ago, I sent out one update…and then when radio silent until now.
I am writing now to let you know that I will be ending these irregular updates and moving this newsletter to a more regular cadence (my goal is weekly).
My focus will be on a framework for change I call “Agile Wayfinding” and updates to my website.
This is a fantastic time for you to unsubscribe if you do not want to receive those updates! It won’t hurt my feelings. I know that my work has evolved over the nine years since I first began building this email list. I am sure that many of you have also changed your interests.
When I started this list, I was working on resources to help people who wanted to become professors. I tried a few approaches, and eventually that work became a book. One of the things on my to do list is to update that into a second edition.
My work today has broadened to help people with a variety of changes including coaching services. I can still help people with higher ed advice, but I have more to offer.
I never intended for this list to be dormant for so long, but I have been busy professionally over the last three years. I took over a very large team at the university, and I also just finished leading a successful accreditation review for the university.
Well, successful for the university, not so much for me. Within a month of the visit team leaving campus, I was informed that my services would not be needed any longer. The upside is that I have suddenly had more time to work on my own writing and how I can help others. I have also been applying for new opportunities…50 applications submitted so far.
One of the upsides to this experience is that it has helped me think about the tools and strategies that I use myself in the face of disruptive change. I have much to share in the coming weeks for those of you who stick with me!
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is my birthday (big 58). If you are looking for something to give me, I am looking for feedback on my website (https://www.chrisdavisphd.com). I have done some work on it recently in advance of promoting both new writing and coaching. (I need to do something during this unpaid “sabbatical.”) I have a form available specifically for this purpose (https://www.chrisdavisphd.com/p/feedback.html) or you can email me directly (chris@chrisdavisphd). One the upsides of my current job status is that my inbox is very quiet.
If there is something I can do for you, please let me know. On the site is the link to book a meeting with me for no cost or obligation. My calendar is also very open these days.
Thank you for reading this far! Whether this is the last time you hear from me or you stay subscribed…it has been a pleasure knowing you over these several irregular years.
