[CE025] Crosspiece by Theodora Laird and Caius Williams
Hello friends
It's been a while since we checked in - here are some key things we can look forward to and reflect on.
We're really excited to announce an upcoming release from Theodora Laird and Caius Williams entitled Crosspiece, to be released on Thursday 30 May with single Language (nearly there) out on Thursday 9 May. You can pre-order the album on Bandcamp.
Crosspiece uses elements of improvisation and extended techniques in voice and double bass. Using collaboration as a prompt, Theo and Caius focused on their own relationship, resulting in 7 tracks, each balancing out softness and intimacy, as well as tension and distortion.

Along with this, hold the evening of Thursday 20 June for a celebratory CE event in Southeast London, to be announced very soon.
Our upcoming release is particularly special as it marks a closing of a cycle of collaborative releases commissioned as part of an Arts Council England grant beginning in 2022. You can revisit the other releases from this project:
Aside from the ACE commissioning project, if you missed our last release, Inner Child Song by Boy Lucid, do spend some time with this beautiful EP of ambient lullabies which share stories of holding pain and self-exploration.

We continue our monthly residency on RTM, with the most recent show on 28 April previewing a track from Crosspiece. Theodora Laird and Caius Williams will take over for the next show at 6pm on Sunday 26 May. In the meantime, listen to our archive of shows from past months, with guests including Demi Spriggs, Flickers From The Fen and Atte Elias Kantonen as well as our own selections.
That's all for now but as ever we welcome your thoughts, reactions, stories and suggestions.
Love
Blue, Hazel, Harry
