Chenoe's Newsletter #4: Design Development + Upcoming Talks
Hello readers,
It’s a good time for me to send out another issue of my infrequent-by-design newsletter, because I now have multiple activities happening later this month. But first, a recap of the beginning of my year:
FutureRack became my first client project as an independent architectural designer. I worked to adapt last year’s design proposal for re-using server racks as furniture to prepare the design for real-world fabrication and potential installation in an office, in addition to developing designs of the client’s overall office layout which were implemented. I’ve shared the project’s design refinements on Bluesky, and the work will have a more permanent portfolio-based home in the future.
My upcoming events:
This Sunday the 11th on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, I’m participating in an event called the Screenshot Conference where I’ll be delivering a short 5-minute lightning talk discussing how computer vision relates to physical space. More event details are available at the link.
I’m attending the Edge Esmeralda event in Healdsburg, California again this year with the Summer of Protocols program, this time in my capacity as an SoP alum. I’ll be there from the 25th-31st of May, presenting a workshop during SoP’s Wednesday / Thursday public workshop dates. My talk will discuss the history of libraries as spatial systems of informational organization. (Exact workshop date/time TBD and will be announced by SoP.)
Both of my talks are supporting an ongoing research project I’m doing which I hope will lead to more writing and publications in the future.
Until the next update,
Chenoe
