Hi everyone!

It’s Izzy. That’s right, I’m back. I had another baby a month ago so you know what that means… time to make a new feature film!

Releasing D(e)ad was truly a whirlwind of magic. Theaters and festivals would NOT listen to us…. And then you showed up, friendly-bullied them on social media, and made a 200-screening tour happen. And now people are talking about our film on panels at festivals (that we are still not invited to, but that’s ok, I have Phở at home.)

This is not Phở

Well, I’d like to flash you forward to NOW. or more specifically, LAST SUMMER. When my dear friend Siobhan Thompson and I had a very good thought — ”why did we spend so much time getting good at improv, if we’re not going to make a Best In Show-style improvised comedy film?”

We took a couple important steps: enlisted a producer (hi Laser, congrats, you’re a producer now) and a director (Alex Fernie, who has directed so much improvised TV and has been an improv hero of mine since I was an infant). We made a list of the funniest people we know. And then we were told kindly by Fernie that we do have to write a script, even though it’s improvised. SILLY. But, I get it. Then we self-funded a test shoot last August.

There is no picture that’s good of everyone.

Well… now it’s time to get serious. When we made D(e)ad, we filmed the whole thing in my families homes, and my family also pitched in their savings to shoot the movie before we went to crowdfunding. You then raised $250k, which meant we could finish and distribute the movie. Crazy story—it was all absolutely worth it, and also, we still haven’t quite broken even. (cast! crew! union! post!)

For this next film, we have a huge ensemble cast and we need a location that is not my home. We’re bringing in some killer crew that we’ve worked with on d20 and improv shows around town.

And that’s going to be expensive…. But worth it, I promise?

Laser tells me the next step in “Seeing If This Thing Is Possible” is to see how many of you and your friends will go to this website and click “follow.” I think you have to make an account, and I’m sorry, but that’s part of it. It’s not an interesting website yet, but eventually that will be where you can donate to the film, and get your name in the film, and get a shirt of the film, and be the entire reason this film exists.

please press "follow"!
You’ll see this button on the website. The video is a very silly placeholder and we appreciate your time.

Sound good? Let’s try it!

Thank you!!

PS: the Instagram account for the new movie is here. We haven’t posted anything yet.

PPS: izzy thanks laser for help with this and other emails
