π Hello there!
With one last push β a week in Japan, driving a moving truck over two mountain passes, and four days at a conference in Seattle β I finally moved into our new house, ending a 5 year long journey.
We had been planning on moving during Spring Break and I had mostly taken the month off to do the move and spend some time with the kids. But I still had some excellent opportunities that I just had to take up. (I am always up for a good opportunity to meet new people and learn new things!)
Now there is a feeling of finality. Back in 2020 we left our house in Kelowna β the longest I have ever lived in one place, 8 years β to become somewhat nomadic. Twelve moves later we are now settled. The epilogue of the last few months in Surrey is turning to Chapter 1. What will this new story bring?
Today I write to you from my new office, an actual room with doors that close (!), a recliner in front of a fireplace for reading, and a new bookshelf filled with my old treasures and a small antilibrary.
I am smiling because β¦ isn't the end always just a new beginning?
To new stories π₯

The One Ring Starter Set by Free League
After all the bad management of the Dungeons & Dragons brand, my TTRPG group of 12 years decided to wrap up our last D&D campaign (which was 5 years long) and start exploring other systems. We are big fans of Quinnβs Quest on YouTube, and have been stocking up on game systems to try out. I got a copy of The One Ring to run. We are also planning to play Blades in the Dark, Mothership, as well as some Cypher System games.
