Data compiled and available from the Sustainability Survey and Climate Impacts Forum
We’ve been busy compiling the information received from the sustainability survey and the public forum regarding climate impacts in the Centre Region. The data will guide the development of the region’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. It will also be a source of useful information going forward as the region works to reduce its emissions and build community resilience. We are excited to report there are many community members interested, engaged, and wanting to see action.
Sustainability Survey:
COG had over 1,800 responses to the sustainability survey conducted March through April. Eleven lucky individuals have received their prizes. Find the executive summary and full report at this link: https://www.crcog.net/sustain-survey
Public Forum Addressing Climate Impacts in the Centre Region:
On April 13, 2021 COG and Penn State Law faculty and students facilitated a public forum attended by over 150 people to discuss climate impacts and explore common ground solutions in the Centre Region. Students from the environmental mediation course also conducted a number of stakeholder interviews. Results from both the forum and the interviews has been complied into an executive summary, as well as a full report that is available at this link: https://www.crcog.net/climate-forum
The next step is to compose the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan and have the six municipalities adopt it. The Plan will be made available for public review this fall for public feedback. Then the implementation phase begins - putting the strategies into action!
Thank you for your participation and interest!
