It has been a long time since I have written one of these. As you can see, my look is different now. I dress this way every day. :D

In May, I retired from my full time job at Kirkwood. I am still teaching online classes part time, but I have been freed up to do…whatever it is I want. And what I want to do is art. Lots and lots of art.

I thought that would be writing books. I still want to write, but that’s not all I want to do now. Two years ago, I took a trip to the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, and I discovered something I’d never heard of: Immersive Theater.

It was a revelation to me. All my life I have plotted games, planned LARPs, involved myself with personal interactions with other characters. I have written and told stories and I have costumed. I have organized via teaching and administration.

In short, I have been training for this all my life.

The last two years I have been involved in an academic project, capturing Starcruiser personas for posterity, and that is mostly under control, with a few entries yet to be added. Preparing for a move has been another piece of my activity. I’m eying two locations with active immersive, interactive theater communities. More of this to come.

I have missed you all, and I will be more frequently here. I’m looking forward to hearing what you’ve been up two. A lot can happen in two years.
