I got to meet a bunch of my teammates in person this week! We’ve been building some really cool stuff that we’re hoping to make public soon, and being able to work with everyone in person has been really fun. I admit… I’m very much an introvert and still feel more productive when I work from home, but working around others is great to get to know each other better!
Also! I wrote up a little blog post based on one of my debugging adventures this week with Vite and React.
And finally, if you haven’t been following along (or have, but the holidays got you behind), our latest episodes of The Dev Morning Show (at night) are here! Our latest episode was with Julie Yang, VP of Product at Spec, and she was a blast to speak with. The one before that was a fun lil holiday special where it’s mostly Zach and I shooting the breeze, which was a great time.

Last week, I had you return a subarray with the largest sum. It was a sneakily tough one to start the year with, awesome work Miguel, Valentin, Les, Bill, Jack, Leyan, Binh, Fraol, Chris, Muhammad, Saad, Henri, David, KurKestutis, Ten, Ricardo, Ángel, Chinar, Danny, Jun, Joe, Jan, Don, Louis, Dan, and Hristiyan!
This week’s question:
Given a number, sum every second digit in that number.
Example:
> sumEveryOther(548915381)
> 26 // 4+9+5+8
> sumEveryOther(10)
> 0
> sumEveryOther(1010.11)
> 1 // 0+0+1
