Hey friends!
I hope you had a great week! I started exercising again for the first time since the pandemic started and… can’t say I’m a fan yet. Anyway, let’s go!

A lot of you may know that I use Obsidian as my note-taking software. I actually use it to write this newsletter, and a bunch of other things as well! This week I got a lot more organized with some of my notes, and also made a light-mode theme called Cardstock, too! If you use Obsidian and want to try it out, go ahead and look up “cardstock” in the Community Themes section.
This week’s sponsor is Mux!
Use Mux to build with video. Take any video file or live stream and make it play beautifully at scale on any device, powered by magical-feeling features like automatic thumbnails, animated gifs, and data-driven encoding decisions. Spend your time building the experience and application that people want, not drudging through ffmpeg documentation.
If you’re interested in open source and building video, check out Mux media-chrome! It’s full of custom web components for making audio and video player controls that look great in your website or app. It’s fully compatible with any JavaScript library (React, Angular, Svelte, etc) and a lot of video players, too!
Last week, I had you reorder an array based on certain indexes. Amazing work Leyan, Taylor, Jesper, Augustin, Rafael, Robin, Md, Ten, Daniel, Deepak, Albert, Andrew, Anna, David, Topher, Gabor, Lucia, Alex, Wannes, Daniel, Wesley, Vanessa, Sreetam, Jitendra, Collin, Will, Ariel, Zoe, Les, Jay, Snowie, and Claude!
This week’s question:
Given a string s
where some of the letters can be “wilds” (denoted by an underscore _
), find the longest palindrome possible from the letters of s
in order, where the wilds can be any character.
Example:
$ longestPalindrome('abcb_cbcbafg')
$ 'abcbccbcba'
$ longestPalindrome('xyzi_iizy')
$ 'yziiiizy'
V4n4g0rth0n v2 with DSS Drank
Arquitectura Libre
Listen to Yourself
Defend the deep
I’m practicing for a bug-eating contest and I’ve got butterflies in my stomach!
That’s all for now, folks! Have a great week. Be safe, make good choices, and rest your eyes after reading off of screens!
Special thanks to Gabor, Stephen, IceSloth, Emad, Alaska, Josh, Conor, Ezell, Pedro, Karthic, Ximena, and Paige for supporting my Patreon and this newsletter!
