I wrapped up some projects this week, and whenever I do that, I struggle with a combo of, “ooh, now I have time to do SO MANY other things!” and, “thank goodness, now I can rest… but am I wasting time by resting?” As for the latter, the answer is obviously no, but it’s a thing that definitely creeps into my head regularly. And for the former… figuring out that balance of not saying yes to too much too suddenly is very important and I am not great at it (yet)!
Anyway, this week we had the hilarious Eve Porcello on The Dev Morning Show (at night) and I gotta say, I struggled to not tear up laughing a few times. Check it out!

Last week, I had you print the numbers 1-100 without using the digits from 1-9 in your code. There were some really amusing and clever solutions! Extra credit goes to those who didn’t use 0, either! Awesome job Tamás, Sage, Augustin, Invader Zim, Robin, Fernando, Andy, Scott, Alfonso, Baudelaire, Miguel, Dan, Josh, Sigmund, Ten, Saad, y0landi, Will, Jesper, Andrew, Derfi, Nate, 413, Vyaas, Danny, Nick, Jack, Mike, Leyan, Les, Ruben, Elizabeth, Ángel, Joseph, Dan, Hristiyan, Don, Chapter, Carine, Sylvain, Churchill, Max, Kyle, Sreetam, Remo, Alberto, Chris, Rick, Johannes, and Paweł!
This week’s question:
Given a string of parenthesis, return the number of parenthesis you need to add to the string in order for it to be balanced.
Examples:
> numBalanced(`()`)
> 0
> numBalanced(`(()`)
> 1
> numBalanced(`))()))))()`)
> 6
> numBalanced(`)))))`)
> 5

A woman in labor suddenly shouted, “Shouldn’t! Wouldn’t! Won’t! Couldn’t! Can’t!”
The doctor replied calmly, “Don’t worry, those are just contractions!”
(hope you liked the delivery of this one ha ha ha)
That’s all for now, folks! Have a great week. Be safe, make good choices, and moisturize your hands regularly!
