Hello friends!

I have had a WHIRLWIND of a week, let me tell ya! I hope yours has been a good one too. Let's dig around cyberspace, shall we?

Something that interested me this week

Gosh, where to begin? So I started off the week recording a very fun episode of the Stack Overflow podcast, followed by MCing Front-End Test Fest! During FETF, the React 18 announcement came out! I whipped up a blog post of what you need to know to get started with it, and spoke about the React 18 Working Group on their Twitter Spaces event later in the week.

I spent the second half of my week in Philadelphia to celebrate my sister-in-law graduating university (woo go Clara!) and to visit the Contenda team! We spent Saturday eating tons of cheesesteaks, and then I suddenly had a call to go on Good Morning America to talk about polyworking and "changing the workforce"! The segment aired this morning on TV and it was so exciting! I admit they edited in a way I didn't expect, but hey, that's showbiz baby.

Interview question of the week

Last week, I had you return products given three numbers (and returning a "lonely number" if two numbers are similar). Tons of awesome responses for this one! Great work Sébastien, Sophie, Gabor, Claude, Tobias, Damien, Rushabh, James, Gaby, Andrew, Michelle, Ricardo, Paul, Taylor, Lucie, Anh, Dym, David, Jesper, Sven, Jean-François, Face the Wolf, Ess, Ashwin, Leyan, Neeraj, Pierre, Griffin, Julien, Nathan, Rafael, Vanessa, Jace, Gerhard, Mark, Martin, refi.64, Dwayne, Avanika, Juri, Ten, Ivana, and Adam!

This week's question:
Given a direction and a number of columns, write a function that outputs an arrow of asterisks (see the pattern in the examples below)!

Example:

$ printArrow('right', 3)
Output:
*
 *
  *
 *
*

$ printArrow('left', 5)
Output:
    *
   *
  *
 *
