Hello fam!

I hope your week went well! I had a busy one myself. I got a new motherboard for my PC and spent a lot of the weekend rebuilding parts of my desk setup and organizing cables. It may sound boring, but I’m so happy with the result! Anyway, let’s go.

Something that interested me this week

I published two blog posts this past week on the Netlify blog! One is about building a Markdown-enabled blog in Next.js (which I built a project for last week), and the second is about improving SEO on your Next.js sites. I really want to get consistent about producing content for folks out there interested in React and the Jamstack. I’m starting with Next, and I’m hoping to try out Redwood after that!

Sponsor

This week’s sponsor is Datadog!

Proactively monitor end-user experience with Datadog. Build and deploy self-maintaining browser tests to simulate user journeys from global locations. If a test fails, get more context by inspecting a waterfall visualization or pivoting to related sources of data for troubleshooting. Plus, Datadog’s AI-powered browser tests automatically update to reflect changes in your UI, so you can spend less time fixing tests and more time building features.

Interview question of the week

Last week, I had you check which words can be written on a single row on the keyboard. Amazing work Kyle, Sam, JD, Ten, Jake, Jasper, Chris, Mikey, Daniel, Sameer, Kori, Seth, Arkady, Evan, Linda, Qais, Sean, Stuart, Collin, Artem, and Felabon!

This week’s question:
Given two numbers X and Y, write a function to check that X and Y are in golden ratio.

Two numbers are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities. Check out the formula here.

Joke

My sister bet me a hundred dollars that I couldn’t build a car out of noodles.
You should have seen the look on her face as I drove pasta!

That’s all for now, folks! Have a great week. Be safe, make good choices, and change the sheets on your bed.
