Hey friends!
Happy February! I don't know about you, but it's uncharacteristically warm (relatively speaking) in Chicago and I am loving the extra sunshine. Let's learn!

This was a fairly busy week for me, but I got a lot of satisfying work done. I wrote a small blog post I had been meaning to write, got a bunch of emails written, took a bunch of calls... and also have been reading some fun books and playing Civilization when I have a moment to spare.
I've found that I regularly get into bouts of busyness that really keep me from doing the work that I care about to do work that matters more to other people. It's hard to find that balance sometimes in busy seasons, or when there's just a lot of "chores" to be done. I've referred back to the book Make Time a few times recently to try and help with that; to make time more for the important things that matter to me. It's a re-learning process!
Also, as usual, the latest episode of The Dev Morning Show (at night) is out, featuring Alexis Morin! Check it out, it was a fun one!
And at last, I'm super grateful to be renewed as a GitHub Star for 2023! It's been a really cool community to be a part of, and I've really loved contributing more to open source as a result too. Woo hoo!
Centered is my favorite productivity app! I'm not just saying it because they're sponsoring, I actually wrote this copy myself because it genuinely works for me and I get a whole lot done with it. The features that I like the most are:
✅ Distraction nudges
✅ Flow music
✅ Pomodoro timers
✅ Notification blocking
Brittany Joiner made this awesome little video to show how she uses Centered if you're not convinced.

This week's question:
Spreadsheet programs often use the A1 Reference Style to refer to columns. Given a column name in this style, return its column number.
Examples of column names to their numbers:
A -> 1
B -> 2
C -> 3
// etc
Z -> 26
AA -> 27
AB -> 28
// etc
AAA -> 703
