Hey friends!

I hope your week was fun! We had the Chicago Air & Water Show this weekend, which was really fun to see. But it was also so hot outside. Anyway, time to learn!

Something that interested me this week

This week I re-wrote my Obsidian theme, Cardstock! Many of you know that I use Obsidian as my note-taking software. I've been meaning to re-write my theme for it ever since they released the big 1.0 version (...in October last year) and I'm really happy with the final result.

You can check out the repo for Cardstock here, or if you use Obsidian and want to try it out, go ahead and look up "cardstock" in the Community Themes section.

Sponsor

This week's sponsor is Contenda!

...Yes I do work at Contenda but LISTEN UP: Contenda helps you turn your expertise into content, faster.

With Contenda Studio, you can take videos, podcast episodes, articles, transcripts (and more) and turn it into written content in your voice.

I personally think better when I talk things out, so I often will record myself talking about a subject, and use Contenda Studio to help me write a blog in a more coherent way. I also use it to turn my conference talks into more SEO-friendly content on socials!

It's free for your first 6 ingestions, and you can get unlimited outputs from those (and it's only $20 for 100 ingestions, which... is a lot).

Interview question of the week

Last week, I had you work with a "faulty" keyboard. Y'all had such creative answers!! Some were short and concise, and some had a full-blown UI built with them. Amazing job Waleed, Saad, Jonnie, Nate, Fraol, Chin, Ten, Usman, Dale, Sreetam, Laurynas, Praveen, Chris, Austin, Christian, Lucien, Karthick, Snowie, Muhammad, Mica, Neil, Tawseef, Alvin, Manuel, Craig, Chase, Alison, Clifford, and Andrew!

This week's question:
Make a "guessing game" where there is a target number, and as the user makes guesses, the output returns higher or lower until the user is correct.

Example usage:

Guess the number!
> 10
higher
> 20
higher
> 30
lower
> 25
higher
> 27
Correct! You won in 5 guesses!
