Something that interested me this week

This was a busy week! Some of the things that happened:
- Went to the Microsoft Reactor meetup
- Talked about keyboards on TopClack
- Went to a fun Easter church service
- Performed at Sakura-Con with the Seattle Video Game Orchestra
- Watched Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Live
- Practiced with my friend's electric guitar band
- Coded on some secret things
- Launched a group buy for a mechanical Scrabble board
- Tweeted crap

And thus, I have nothing more to say here. I am tired. Onward!

Interview question of the week

Last week I had you reverse the diagonals in an n*n array. Here's Will's solution!

This week's question:
Given a matrix of 0s and 1s, where 0s are bodies of water and 1s are bodies of land, return the number of land masses. Land is connected horizontally and/or vertically.

Example:
[
[0,1,1,1],
[0,0,0,1]
[1,0.1.0]
[0,0,1,1]
]
> 3 bodies of land

Bonus points: Do this without allocating extra memory!

Joke

A man goes to a funeral and asks the widow, "Mind if I say a word?"
She says: "Please do."
The man clears his throat and says: "Plethora."
The widow replies: "Thank you, that means a lot."

That's all for now, folks! Be safe, make good choices, and stay humble.
