Heyo!

I hope your week was a good one! Mine was wildly busy at work, but our team got a ton done, and this weekend offered up some much-needed rest time. Let’s boogie!

Something that interested me this week

This was a heavy coding week for me (in a good way)! I wrote a whole lot of weird JavaScript that crashed my browser (it eventually worked, don’t worry), and shipped some stuff I’m excited about for work (which I will talk about more later when we’re ready). It’s really satisfying to ship after a crunch time, but I definitely have to be careful about making it a habit.

In case you didn’t know, I’m one of the co-hosts of The Stack Overflow Podcast, alongside the awesome Ceora Ford! We always have a blast talking about tech (and k-pop, she is a big fan), and this week, we brought her on as a guest to The Dev Morning Show (at night) to talk more about k-pop and about how she got into the industry. Check it out!

Sponsor

Centered is my favorite productivity app! I’m not just saying it because they’re sponsoring, I actually wrote this copy myself because it genuinely works for me and I get a whole lot done with it. The features that I like the most are:

โœ… Distraction nudges
โœ… Flow music
โœ… Pomodoro timers
โœ… Notification blocking

Brittany Joiner made this awesome little video to show how she uses Centered if you’re not convinced.

Join me and thousands of other developers using it! Try Centered today for free, or get Centered Pro for 20% off using code FREAKINNERDS20.

Interview question of the week

Last week, I had you translate spreadsheet column numbers. It was fun to see all of your different answers! Awesome work Saad, Fernando, 413, Sreetam, Leyan, ycw, Dan, Les, Brian, Hristiyan, Muhammad, Jun, Daniel, Alberto, Chris, Remo, Paweล‚, Kyle, Chris, Carine, Kyriakos, Danny, Max, รngel, Don, and Ten!

This week’s question:
Print the numbers 0 through 100 without using the characters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 in your code. Get creative!
