Hello everyone,
It’s been such an intense week here in the US. I hope you all are staying safe and supporting your Black neighbors and friends. Let’s go.

This past week I spoke at Jamstack Conf and gave a mini React Hooks workshop! It was a fun time, and I’m hoping to turn it into an online course soon.
It’s been such a scary week witnessing all that’s happening in cities around the US. If you are looking to donate to organizations to help Black Lives Matter, I discovered several through this Twitter thread and also this thread of petitions you can sign. I often feel useless in times like these, so all I can say is: my Black friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and those I haven’t met yet, I see you, I’m here for you, and I am so sorry that this system was not built for you. I sincerely hope that these protests actually drive change.
This week’s sponsor is Courier!
Courier is the best way to design and deliver notifications over any channel - like email, SMS, and Slack. Simplify your code by using one API to send over any channel, design and manage your notifications using a beautiful no-code template editor, and take advantage of powerful routing logic to reach your users how they want to be reached. Do it all in less time than it takes to sort through your ticket backlog.

Last week, I had you build a simple text editor. Great job Ten, Mikey, Amy, Sameer, Will, Jack, and Mustafa!
This week’s question:
Given a positive integer N, check if N is a power of 2 (N is 2^x for some x).

How to Protest Safely in the Age of Surveillance
I got an email saying, “On Google Earth, we can read maps backwards!” and I thought to myself… that’s just spam.
That’s all for now, folks! Have a great week. Be safe, make good choices, and stand up for what’s right.
Special thanks to Gabor, Stephen, Louis, and Tom for supporting my Patreon and this newsletter!
