Hello mailing list!

I have come to make amends for my last minute August email, with TWO fun updates. And one of those updates is a mailing list exclusive (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

1. EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

After a summer of burnin’ rubber…and three action packed town halls, it’s time to kick back by a warm fire. Spend an hour or two watching the leaves change. Catch up with a new friend. Do all that and more at our next event, which we’re calling FIRE PIT WITH ME 🔥 happening on Friday, September 29 at 7PM in Christie Pits Park.

I’m bringing warm apples and hot toddies. You should bring a chair, a friend and a scratchy sweater. Catch us by fire pit #2, which is just north of the basketball courts.

Accessibility: This event is free. The fire pit is accessible via a steep paved path from the top of the hill at the south east side of the park, and multiple other gravel paths that come down from the top of the south side of the park. There is seating in the form of 4 big rock slabs surrounding the fire pit. Email us if you need a chair but won’t be able to bring one. Two gendered public washrooms are available to the north of the fire pit via paved path. They’re open until 10PM. We ask that you be conscientious, and if things get crowded, wear a mask. Extra masks will be available if needed.

2. DISCORD (SOFT LAUNCH)

After struggling through the mire that is my aging brain trying to figure out new tech, and with a huge amount of help from my friend Al, the Discord is up and running!

This is a soft launch so that we can work out any kinks before opening it up to the wider community. So far it's going smooth, but if you notice anything that's not working, or if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to say so. I want this to be a fun and useful server so your feedback is super helpful.
