September Newsletter
It's the final month to submit to our folkloric anthology

Last month to submit
Time has zipped by, and we're already in September! That means you have until midnight on Tuesday the 30th to send stories to our first anthology call-out.
We're looking forward to an autumn of reading folklore-inspired stories, and will be getting back to everyone who's submitted in October.
Read our guidelines and how to submit here.
Coming soon: publishing enquiries
We're delighted to share that in November we'll open our doors to publishing enquiries for novellas and short fiction collections, from writers in the North of England.
We're looking for strange and literary speculative fiction to add to our 2026-27 schedule, so if you're cooking something up be sure to send us an enquiry when submissions open. More info to follow!
Become a Carnyx Press supporter
We've set up a ko-fi so anyone who likes our vibe and wants to support a new micropress can send us a tip.
You can also become a supporter for as little as £2 a month, which comes with the bonus of getting editorial feedback whenever you submit to us (and if you've already submitted something, we'll make sure you get that feedback too).
This is a bit of a trial for now, and we'll explore more benefits for supporters in the future.
Find out more by visiting our ko-fi.
