Enquiries are open

Following our anthology call-out earlier this year, we're delighted to now be open for publishing enquiries!

We're looking for 1-2 single-author novellas or short story collections to publish in late 2026/2027.

We're open to enquiries from writers with and without agents living in the North of England, and for manuscripts of 15,000 to 40,000 words. We're interested in strange and literary speculative fiction: fantasy, science fiction, horror, weird fiction, or anything else a little outside the ordinary. You can find the full guidelines here.

We'll be open as long as it takes to find work that fits our publishing aims... but at least until the start of December!

Find out more and read our submission guidelines.

How to write a query letter

If you haven't submitted a manuscript to a publisher or agent before, or would like to find out what we're looking in a cover or query letter, we've put a blog together on the topic.

Naturally every agent or publisher wants something a little different, and there isn't one perfect way to write a query letter, but this should be a good starting point and outlines exactly what we want to see when a writer contacts us.

Read our blog here.
