Oaths and Offerings features "stories as diverse and strange as the hidden world we sense just beyond our own"
Welcome to a packed issue of our monthly newsletter, beginning with this lovely quote from Glen James Brown, acclaimed author of Mother Naked (Peninsula Press, 2024).
We're excited to reveal that Oaths and Offerings will be published on Thursday 4th June. Not only that, we'll open for pre-orders next week, on the 9th April! We'll be sending out a quick email then to let you know pre-orders have opened.

Event next month: Writing Folklore
Our editor Nathaniel will be speaking at an event on writing folklore at the People's Bookshop in Durham on Tuesday 19th May!
He'll be chatting with Kym Deyn, whose debut poetry collection Folkish is out this month, and the North East Folklore Society. It promises to be a captivating evening exploring the relationship between literature, poetry, and folk culture.
This is the first in our event series for Oaths and Offerings, which also includes our Newcastle launch event at Newcastle Arts Centre on Thursday 4th June!

In conversation with Mae Tang
We chatted with Oaths and Offerings contributor Mae Tang about her inspiration, favourite bookshop, and more over on the Carnyx Press blog.
Mae's story, 'Away With the Fairies', is a deeply affecting tale of tradition, food, and belonging, in which the supernatural offers a way to contend with the prejudices of small-town England.

Two months to go: the sorcery anthology
If you thought we'd stop at one anthology, think again! In two months' time, from the 1st June to the 30th July, we'll be opening submissions for our second anthology: this time, with a focus on sorcerous tales.
We'll be after strange and literary stories of magic and those who wield it from writers living in the North of England, to be considered for publication in an anthology due out next year.
