Carl Testa Music Upcoming Livestreams and Performances
Hello Everyone,
Happy 2022, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. I have a few online and live events coming up in the next few months and wanted to let everyone know about them.
First up is a live coding duo performance with myself and composer Rachel Devorah we'll be performing tomorrow night at 9:30PM EST as part of the FlashCrash livestream events organized by the lines community. We're using the Estuary platform to collaborate in real-time over the internet. I've been using, learning about, and teaching students about this platform over the past year and have found it to be a very exciting site of creative exploration for audiovisual performance. My students at the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven recently performed a live coding collaborative composition for the school and video of the performance is available online.
Next up on March 13th, my Sway ensemble returns this time to the Hartford Public Library as part of their Baby Grand Jazz Series. For this performance, I will be joined by Adam Matlock on piano and vocals, Anne Rhodes on voice, Lou Guarino Jr. on trumpet, Yuma Uesaka on clarinets and saxophones, and myself of course on bass and electronics. Tickets for the live performance are sold out but the performance will be available for viewing via livestream.
Finally as the culmination of my Artists Respond grant, I am organizing a concert of live coding music to be presented at The State House in New Haven on Sunday April 17th. Confirmed artists so far include myself, Sadnoise, Roxanne Harris, Dan Derks, and Messica Arson. More Artists will be added. I'll send out more details as we get closer to the event.
