Up Now, ft. Me: Ukrainian Drama Showcase Festival

The Carl Bindman Newsletter

Hi all; caught the cold going around but I’m over it now so it’s time to get back to work. I’m performing in the Ukrainian Drama Showcase which started Thursday and runs through Sunday May 10! The lineup is all staged readings, featuring some really compelling and powerful material. I’m in New York, Donetsk, Ukraine: 100° F, a dramatic monologue by Oleksandr Zhuhan, under direction of the terrific Yibin Wang, stage managed by Cricket Whithall.

Our first performance in the festival was last night, and gosh is it ever nice to be with an audience. The script is quite short, a little jewel of a thing, which made for a fast rehearsal process driven by instinct and strong choices, which I think reflects in the staged piece. Come and see, and then stick around for the other work—or come for the other work and stick around for ours.

Remaining shows of mine are tonight at 7:30pm, and tomorrow at 12:00pm. Tickets and info and full lineup here. For codes and comps, hit me up. There’s also a livestream.

Oh, and would you look at the time. Gotta run!

Love ya,

C
