Here they are, as promised, the first two episodes of Art Workers: The Independent Artists’ Forum. I’ll admit, I wouldn’t be mad if you gave them a listen. I would actually, you could say, be thrilled.
Episode One is an interview with the amazing Helen Romeu. Listen here.
Episode Two is an interview with the astonishing Yibin Wang. Listen here.
Many thanks to you both for being my inaugural guests. I’m lucky and grateful to have such generous and interesting friends (and collaborators)!
Prospective listeners: I encourage you to subscribe/follow the show on whatever your platform of choice is. I likely won’t be announcing every episode on the newsletter as they go up (for all of our inbox’s sakes), so that’ll be your ticket to catch them all. I also encourage you to let me know what you think!
The Winter’s Tale is done. Thanks again to director Emily Gallagher and everyone at Barefoot Shakespeare Co! I had a good time. So did audiences, seems like; shows on the second week pulled crowds in excess of 100 folks, which is pretty incredible turnout for free outdoor theatre in the park. The people are thirsty for weird Shakespeare!
My work permit lapses in July so things will be quiet for a moment on the “Come See Me Work” front. While the permit is being renewed, I’m going to be taking some (unpaid) time to get other (unpaid) balls rolling on projects that have been quietly gestating (unpaid). Gestating balls: now that’s a mixed metaphor.
I’m aware it’s been more emails than usual lately, there’s been a lot going on! But I’ll be returning to the regular monthly-ish messages now; I do prefer that cadence. It gives you time to miss me.
Until the next,
Carl
