That’s right, listen to the sound of my voice. You are getting very sleepy. You are feeling the desire to see art. You are feeling the desire to laugh and be outside with friends. You are filled with the powerful urge to continue reading and to decide which date this week you’ll come to see me perform in The Winter’s Tale in Central Park. When I snap my fingers, you’ll follow that urge. Snap!
Right yes it’s The Winter’s Tale directed by Emily Gallagher with Barefoot Shakespeare Company and it’s at Summit Rock in Central Park and it’s free so just show up, eh! It’s good, too, by the way, I should mention.
To jog the memory, to take the memory out for some cardiovascular exercise: I’m playing Antigonus and the Shepherd.
Remaining performances:
Thursday, June 6 @ 6pm
Friday, June 7 @ 6pm
Saturday, June 8 @ 4pm
Sunday, June 9 @ 4pm
Okay. See you there! If you want!
Here we go, folks. We have: a graphic, a theme song courtesy of Louie Zong (Thanks Louie!), and a launch date, holy heck. That’s June 13th, by the way.
And a treat: right this moment, you can see (and listen to?) my intro episode. Right here. Wow! It’ll populate onto the podcasting apps over the next few days too, if that’s your preference.
So, uh, it took me so long to get this project together that in the six months or so since I first mentioned it, somebody else has gone out and made a podcast with the same name. Whereas before I was intending to drop “The Independent Artists’ Forum” from the title because it’s… a mouthful… now I’m keeping it. Here’s to brand differentiation!
We’ll be launching the real deal next week with a double-header: my aforementioned interview with Helen Romeu, and to satisfy the most podcast-hungry among you, another interview featuring director and my neighbour Yibin Wang.
Once again, that’s Art Workers: The Independent Artists’ Forum. Twice again, first episodes go up Thursday June 13th.
All the best, and come see Winter’s Tale (if you want),
Carl
