Noticings 13: AI 101 Training
February at Careful Industries
This month, we’re focusing on how we can help as many people and organisations as possible resist the AI hype and make the decisions that work for them.
We want more people to understand what AI means for both their organisations and society as a whole.
AI 101: Training

There’s still time to book your place on AI 101 Training on Tuesday 4th March. It’s for people working in and with charities, governments and public sector organisations.
In this training session, we will move beyond the hype to share the environmental and social impacts of AI.
This is what people had to say about our last workshop:
“A great introduction to thinking about what AI is, and how its implementation affects or can affect us. A whistlestop tour of info, and lots of further reading to dive into”
“I wasn't sure how much I'd get out of a 90-minute session but it turned out to be a lot!“
“Getting a kind of summary of things to consider, to pay attention to, and to dive into further, curated by someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Rachel, is really valuable.”
Tickets start at £200 (but we have a special discount for micro charities so please get in touch to find out more).
AI Action Summit

Following the AI Action Summit in Paris, Rachel Coldicutt shared reflections with the LSE Blog on what we learned about the visions put forward about AI. She argues that the UK has more to gain from the Parisian vision of a less extractive and divisive future AI.
“This is a vision predicated on inviting inward investment from Silicon Valley companies, a plan in which AI happens to the people of the UK by the billion-dollar companies with the power to invest.”

Five Lessons for Careful AI Adoption

This month, we’re focusing on how we translate some of our deep research about AI's social impacts into training and courses. So, in our latest blog post we’ve shared five things we’ve learnt about AI adoption.
Want to put these into practice? We’re now open to new clients looking to evaluate technical, social, and ethical implications to establish how AI can, and cannot, help deliver their business goals. We work with a range of roles, sectors, and levels of expertise.
