New album is immanent
Hello friends!
Welcome to the new version of this newsletter. I had to switch email services at the end of last month. With any luck, it will feel pretty much exactly the same on your end. Please do let me know if anything acts up though.
Today I'm writing to let you know at long last the files that comprise The Harmony of Rhythm have made their way into the hands of a mastering engineer. This means post production is almost complete.
Originally my plan was to have the album out this winter, but I'm glad I took some more time to dial in some of the finer details. It's amazing how many decisions you can make with recorded improvised music when trying to maintain that feeling of being present for an actual emotional moment.
I hear this album as a direct sequel to the original Calculated Discomfort album from 2018--cohesive compositional improvisation with a healthy blend of ambiance and groove. I'd like to think this one is a little older, wiser and stronger.
The album's single Path of Totality will come out April 8th, just in time for the solar eclipse.
You can expect the rest of the album on digital and CD mid May.
Until then, enjoy this audio clip of the last Prosthetic show set to some footage of a probe flying through Jupiter.
