My COVID diary's greatest hits comes out next week
Hello, and Happy New Year!
Friends, it's been a wild ride these past nine months. In 2020 I was planning to bring you a dance album performed by an eight-piece band--in person preferably with as many bodies crammed into as many rooms in as many different places as possible. Instead, I ended up spending a lot of time playing drums alone and finding ways to keep it interesting. If you've been on the ride with me via my weekly Facebook livestreams, you've gotten a glimpse into this process. If not, I hope you will find this next announcement exciting nevertheless.
Original medicine, my solo drum album, comes out next Tuesday!
That's right, a week from today Tuesday 1/12 I'll be releasing a collection of highlights of the improvisations I recorded this past year. Each improvisation incorporates a different combination of drums and cymbals to tell a personal story about the things that inspired and bummed me out in 2020. I honestly never thought I'd be releasing a solo drum album, but I'm very proud of the sonic journey I've put together for you.
