Join Calculated Discomfort in Grant Park this Saturday!

The weekend we've been preparing for all summer is almost here. Calculated Discomfort will be taking the stage at the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park this Saturday evening.
I'm thinking back to mid 2018 when the idea for Dances for Different Bodies was just starting to form in my head. Four years later and our nine-piece band will be throwing a 90 minute dance party featuring that same music, with some new members and musical twists.
This is a monumental night for disability culture.
The night will kick off at 6pm with an hour of dance instruction lead by Momenta Dance Company. Momenta is an integrated dance company, so they'll be teaching dance steps and their wheelchair translations. This is a dance party for every body.
After a brief intermission, Calculated Discomfort will take the stage for our biggest performance yet. The band features horns, guitar, drums, vocals and West African percussion. We're actually about to head into our final rehearsal. You don't want to miss this.
