Come out Tuesday for a free show and a fun night
Happy summer friends!
This time in Chicago is the best time for live music, nice weather and friends anywhere in the world in my opinion. As I mentioned in a previous message, we are absolutely spoiled with public / community events with great tunes. June for me was awash in meaningful moments in and around the sun.
If you know me well though, you know that, when it comes to the pure musicality of a moment, I believe there is no better place for musical creation than a relatively small space, band crammed together on the floor, playikng to a moderately-sized audience. Stages and fancy sound systems are amazing for clarity and projection, but people are what make musical energy go round. You can play to 400+ people, but the energy exchange can feel no different than playing to 20 depending on how things are set up.
This coming Tuesday July 9th, me and some friends are presenting a musical experience exactly like the one I've described above.
Green Lady 7/9/2024
Join Karl Maher, Lyn Rye, Will Barnard and myself Tuesday July 9th at the Green Lady in Roscoe Village when we will be performing two energetic sets of original groove-based music.
The Green Lady is a very hospitable neighborhood bar (dogs welcome) with an extensive beer selection, with a focus on woman-owned / lead breweries. Seriously, if you're a beer fan, it's a place you probably already want to check out on a summer night (they have a patio too).
Karl Maher and I have made dozens of records together, but we haven't done a full set of either of our original compositions in way too long. We're fixing that Tuesday. And it's going to be both fun and free for all.
There's no better time to fully enjoy a Tuesday night than July in Chicago. I hope to catch you there.
