And the rhythm rolls on
Hello friends!
First I wanted to extend a hardy thank you to everyone who made it out to the Golden Dagger for Chicago Rhythm All Stars. It was a great party and an artistically stimulating evening, and I can't wait to organize the next one! Stay tuned--you never know what us percussionists might be cooking up..
The next big performance is coming up next Saturday September 9th at Elastic Arts for Ritual Rhythm Chicago's Harvest Hafla event. I'm stoked to present a trio featuring Trevor Hill on saxophones, Erica Miller on electronic cello and myself on percussion. This performance is called Earth - Space Balance, and it's going to feature live dancers. Ritual Rhythms Chicago is a pretty new age organization, which I know might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there are lots of cool jewlery venders, health food stands, massage practitioners, and even a drum jam to open the night. I had a really fun time when I played this series with Lyn Rye last year.
All the info and discounted advance tickets are here.
Lastly, I'm preparing to put out a little bit of recorded music I created for an event that took place at the Museum of Contemporary Art earlier this year. You can expect more about that in a week or two.
Until then,
Tommy
