‘Writing Workshop’ starts up again on 15th September. Tuesday evenings, 6.30-8.30pm, at the Birmingham and Midland Institute (B3 3BS) in the city centre.

What is Writing Workshop?

1. An unimaginatively-titled, friendly and supportive writing group.

2. A place to learn, practise and enjoy the craft of writing.

3. A space where we sometimes try out writing exercises (but never make you read them out).

4. A way to keep a writing project on track and build momentum.

5. Flexible enough to focus on what you’d like to cover (like a session on editing or on building character).

6. Fresh and inspiring: we’ve had ghost stories, poetry, memoir, experimental writing, screenplays, non-fiction, historical fiction, autofiction, children’s adventure stories. All genres welcome here, and there’s always something to take away from others’ work that might inform your own writing.

Booking now open! The first six sessions (15 September–20 October) cost £180. If you then decide to continue for the next six sessions (3 November–8 December), you can book that block at the reduced price of £150.
