Why We're Building Butter Wellness đ§

My name is CJ and I am the co-founder of Butter Wellness. There are now 2,059 of you that are part of the pre-launch Butter community. First off, I want to thank all of you for being here. Some of you may have stumbled across our social media, some of you may be supportive friends, and some of you may have discovered Butter through the pre-launch campaign we ran. Regardless of your path here, I couldnât be happier to have you along for the ride and am excited to build Butter with you all. I wanted to write this post to provide you with a bit more background on the origin of Butter. Letâs dive into it.
What is Butter Wellness? Butter is a modern menâs sexual wellness brand. Centered around education, innovation, and approachability, we create products for the oft-overlooked yet most pleasurable area of a manâs bodyâthe prostate, otherwise known as âthe male G-spot.â Welcome to man's final frontier.
Our mission is to de-stigmatize prostate stimulation and other taboos, enabling every man to feel confident partaking in self care that brings them the most pleasure.
We believe sexual health is an integral component of oneâs overall health. By de-stigmatizing the prostate and other taboos, Butter creates an environment for individuals to confidently explore new ideas, opportunities and pleasure. This environment enables men (& everyone else) to become more in touch with themselves, their bodies, and their partner, ultimately allowing them to have healthier, happier sex, relationships, and lives.
Why I Started Butter
Over the last few years, the womenâs sexual wellness industry has seen a complete revolution. Womenâs sexual wellness has entered mainstream popular culture and is beginning to be rightfully embraced as a critical component of oneâs overall wellness. Much of this progress has been driven by recently launched womenâs sexual wellness companies such as Dame, Bloomi, and Foria, to name a few. These companies have helped to de-stigmatize womenâs sexual wellness by offering products with modern designs and approachable branding, creating an elegant and shame-free customer experience. However, the menâs market has remained relatively stagnant, with menâs sexual wellness products still carrying a major stigma.
Dame Products
I started Butter because when I looked at the menâs sexual wellness market I couldnât find any brand that I could relate to as an average guy.
All that exists today are dimly lit stores off the highway, and repulsive old websites selling products like the âspread eagle sallyâ and âdeep throat suckerâ. I canât even begin to read the descriptions of those products to you. These products are often anatomical in nature, creating an extremely uncomfortable shopping experience and deterring purchases for the average consumer.
Furthermore, essentially all the sexual wellness products that exist in the menâs space are penis strokers, similar to the Fleshlight pictured below. These products have remained essentially unchanged since their launch 30 years ago, and only address one (the penis) of the many male erogenous zones (there are 14+⌠how many can you name?).
This brings me to another major issue in the menâs sexual wellness industry: a lack of educational content for menâs sexual pleasure. Furthermore, while there are many publications, such as Cosmopolitan, that routinely feature educational tips and tricks for female sexual pleasure, menâs sexual wellness lacks any major educational content/coverage. Because of this, many men are completely oblivious to the many erogenous zones and sexual pleasure points of their own body.
In summary, the three main issues in the menâs sexual wellness space, as I see them, are hyper-sexualized branding and marketing, inadequate products, and a lack of education.
Butter is solving these problems by creating a modern menâs sexual wellness brand centered around education, innovation, and approachability. Weâre creating products for the oft-overlooked yet most pleasurable area of a manâs bodyâthe prostate, otherwise known as âthe male G-spot.â
Why the prostate / perineum?
We chose to focus on the prostate because it is the most pleasurable area of a manâs body, yet it often receives the least amount of mainstream attention in terms of products and education. Honing in on the prostate also enables us to provide a solution to the three major pain points I discussed earlier.
It provides us an opportunity to introduce a new product, The Butter Personal Massager.
New Product: The Personal Massager is the only waterproof, ultra-quiet, body-safe silicone device designed to stimulate the male G-spot externally. Thatâs rightâno insertion is required to experience the goods.
The personal massager stimulates the prostate externally, through the perineum. The perineum is a key erogenous zone, and external stimulation via the perineum is a much lower lift for people who might be exploring this area for the first time and hesitant about the insertion necessary for internal stimulation.
It allows us to create a plethora of educational content, as the prostate is rarely covered when it comes menâs sexual pleasure
Education: Many people are unaware that the prostateâlovingly referred to as the male G-spotâis the most sensitive area of the male body. Approachable brand, de-stigmatized through humor: Open conversation and approachable humor empowers first-time consumers and opens the door to new sexual experiences and products. Humor is the vessel through which we spread the good word about prostate stimulation.Â
Put simply: Prostate stimulation can provide a much stronger, full-body orgasm that is different, and likely much better than any other orgasm you have had. If youâre interested in having more pleasurable sex, this is something that you should try. Simple as that. Butter helps you to do this through humor, education, and an approachable entry-level product.
This is only the start for Butter. The overarching vision for Butter is to expand beyond prostate-focused products into the broader menâs sexual wellness market. I plan to share a more detailed overview of this vision with you all in the near future.
