More art shows, plus a grant!
Modern Ornament, an art project by burnsbothends
I have a significant amount of work at Castle Consortia’s Rise show, at 700 7th Street, McKees Rocks, PA - and one sold at the event opening! There’s a ton of wonderful art at this show from a lot of different artists working in different styles, from landscapes to mixed media to stained glass to a sculpture made of lard (It’s much cooler than it sounds). The gallery is open weekdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April 30, and you can view the gallery at any community events they host, including game nights - check out their calendar at https://castleconsortia.com/events/ !
I also have a large piece - Routwash, previously shown at Eberle Studios - that will be up at the Surface Tension show with the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art starting in March - the opening reception is on Friday, March 13, 6-9pm (which coincides with the museum’s Art on Tap: St. Paddy’s Day Whiskey Bash). Associated Artists of Pittsburgh custom framed the art without glazing, to show off the dimensionality and texture, and I’m so pleased with the result. If you’d like to buy tickets (which include entertainment, light bites, and one free drink), you can do so here: https://thewestmoreland.org/event/aot-st-paddys/, and for more information about the exhibition you can look here: https://thewestmoreland.org/exhibitions/surface-tension/
And to wrap up this message - I recently received a grant from the Craft Emergency Relief Fund to help purchase a positive air pressure respirator, which will help me participate in the arts community without risking my health! I’m incredibly grateful for their support, and look forward to seeing people around the city once it comes in!
