Hey, folks! Our next event is October 27th, 7-9 PM at Easy Lover in Williamsburg.

If you attended September's Brooklyn Web Workers, you heard about Kickstarter United and their fight for a new union contract:
Codifying the 32-hour, 4-day work week that has been their reality for over three years
Raising compensation for the lowest-paid employees, who are often front-line support to the community of backers and creators.
As of 8am Thursday, October 2nd, Kickstarter United stepped out on strike on the strength of a belief in these new standards of work, unless management meets their demands.
Join us on Tuesday, October 7th at noon as we rally and picket outside of Kickstarter Board Member and Investor Fred Wilson's venture capitalist firm - Union Square Ventures at 817 Broadway.

Do you want to present at Brooklyn Web Workers? We're looking for talks that are 10-20 minutes long, geared towards an audience of software engineers, and maybe have a political angle. If so, please get in touch by replying to this email, or DM @brooklynwebworkers.com on Bluesky.
