Happy Holidays from Boston Poetry Slam! As you know, we did not have a show this past Wednesday, as one of the few circumstances where our “every Wednesday” doctrine is overruled took place: Christmas was on a Wednesday. That does NOT mean there isn’t a show this week, however. In fact, there isn’t just a show this week, it’s TONIGHT! And the show isn’t just any show, it’s Michael F. Gill’s POETRY THEATRE! Don’t even get me started on what we have going on next week - just because New Year’s Day falls on a Wednesday, that does not mean there won’t be a show. Quite the contrary - read more below and you might win a PRIZE!
Michael F. Gill’s Poetry Theatre
When: TONIGHT! Doors at 6pm, Show at 6:30
Where: Cantab Underground
As per annual tradition, the last show of the year is Michael F. Gill’s Poetry Theatre! Produced By Michael F. Gill and featuring a cast of open mic and slam regulars, we’ll be hearing group pieces, short poetic plays, conceptual tomfoolery, and other outside-the-box work! The doors will open at 6 pm for a 6:30 show, with a short poetry open mic happening before the feature. Come join in on the fun! There will be featured performances by Katya Zinn, Ericka Ainsley, Edie Churchill, Cameron Vanderwerf, March Penn, and more.
Cover is $4, as usual.
When: Wednesday, 1/1/25. 7pm - Doors, sign up, crafts, awards-making. 8pm - show.
Where: Trident Booksellers and Cafe
Come spend New Year’s Day with the Boston Poetry Slam! The Cantab Lounge will be CLOSED, so we will be partnering with Trident Booksellers to celebrate the year behind us with a gala and 🏆community awards ceremony 🏆. We will have a pre-show DIY Broadsides craft, and an opportunity to help the hosts make up the awards for our open mic-ers. ✨Every reader gets an award! ✨Show up at 7 to settle in and order food & drink, 👗dress as fancy as you’d like👔, and enjoy our first open mic of the year!
Cover is $4, and note that the show is ALL-AGES!
