Bye Bye'25! Hello Bold '26!
We did it. We made it. Good job, everyone!
I hope you had a year of thriving and boundless success. If you didn’t, you’re not alone. I bet you had way more wins than you’re giving yourself credit for. What did you succeed at that was in your control? No idea? Here’s some help.
For the third year in a row, I’ve marked the end of a year with the YearCompass. It’s a free guide that helps you to reflect on the past year and set intentions for the next. What I love most about it is that it encourages you to think back to when you felt the best this past year, so you can prioritize what makes you feel most like yourself in the new year.

The Bold Ones Support Group is Back!
This past year, I launched a biweekly support group with a small but motivated and generous group of writers. The Bold Ones Support Group is returning on Monday, January 26 through Monday, June 1 for ten biweekly sessions. We'll have an afternoon group (12-2 PST) and an evening group (6:30-8:30 PST). The groups will be capped at eight writers total so we can benefit from an intimate setting while having plenty of brains to pick.
What’s the Bold Ones Support Group?
The Bold Ones Support Group is an intimate community of up to eight supportive screenwriters that offers care, authentic connection, and a deep well of resources and guidance. During our ten biweekly group sessions, we help writers make space to complete the stories they love and pursue the careers of their dreams with the lives they have now.

From Fellow Writers
"What I love most about our Bold Ones Support Group is that it’s NOT a space where we exchange scripts. Instead, we focus on setting goals, rooting for each other, and working through the unique challenges of the screenwriting life, which could otherwise feel ridiculous and lonely. Our fantastic leader, Laura, is a sparkly fountain of advice and encouragement." -Jeanée Ledoux, Feature Writer
"I’ve come to rely on Laura to help me fulfill my potential as a writer. She offers so much wisdom and knowledge based on her own experience as a writer, winner of prestigious competitions, information gleaned from labs and retreats she’s participated in, courses she’s taken and books she’s read. Her insights have helped me take my scripts from just okay to great, and it’s comforting to have feedback I can trust. Plus she’s so enthusiastic, kind and, of course, hilarious. Writing is a solitary endeavor and it’s tremendously helpful to know there’s someone in my corner. I’m so grateful I found Laura!” -Abby Cohen, TV Comedy Writer
“Working with Laura Mannino at Bold Type Coaching has been such a positive experience. She is incredibly kind, supportive, and encouraging. She helped me set realistic goals and create structure around my writing when I was struggling to prioritize my time and stay consistent. Thanks to her guidance, I’ve made steady progress and feel much more confident in my writing process.” -Ambra Chavira, Feature Writer
Happiest of Holidays! Rest. Then keep going.
Love, Laura
