I mentioned a while ago that I’d gone back and read all of Small Wonders, and I had a few more recommendations from it – this is one of them, from all the way back in the first issue.
It has so many of my favorite themes! And also written poetically. The protagonist takes the Interstitial Void Transit, a form of public transport between universes. It’s weird and it feels surprisingly good. Can this be life-changing? Without spoiling the particular details, I also really liked how the story touched upon mood disorders and the cure trope.
I’m collecting stories about accountants and tax experts and this is another one!
Until next time,
Bogi.
