Writing and thinking
Hi there.
One of my favorite things about writing a newsletter weekly is that each time I write, I clarify or broaden my thinking.
I start out assuming I know what I want to say, but as the words come down on paper/pixel, often new ideas or new perspectives emerge.
I realize that something I’ve written isn’t clear. I re-word it, and find that a few things click into place that I hadn’t put into words before.
Often, I’ll wind up with a new (to me) way of thinking about or expressing the topic that winds up being useful in my teaching or clinical work.
The act of writing thoughts down adds both complexity and clarity, probably because it uses different pathways in the brain.
In this way, writing is as much an exercise for me as it is a service for my readers. It doesn’t always feel good, it doesn’t always come easily, but in the end, I’m always glad I did it.
Keep writing,
Camille

Hi. I’m Camille Freeman.
I’m an herbalist, nutritionist, and educator. I’ve built my business largely with the help of my (other) newsletter. I write this newsletter to support other newsletter writers, because I know how much of a difference it makes and how hard it can be to keep writing. Remember: write regularly, sound like yourself, and focus on sending things that matter to your readers. If you haven’t already, please check out my book: Write Better Newsletters.
