Hi there,

When was the last time you sent an offer to your newsletter subscribers?

By offer, I mean an email entirely devoted to inviting the readers to work with you (or to attend an upcoming course/event/etc.)

The invitation isn’t wedged in between other parts of the newsletter. It’s not a P.S. or a link in your bio.

The whole entire email is just about what you do, who it’s for, and inviting the reader to schedule if it seems like a good fit.

Readers often don’t know or don’t remember what you do unless you tell them.

It is okay and important to periodically invite people into your practice.

Here’s a cheat sheet for what to include in an offer newsletter, in case you feel stuck:

  • Greeting or salutation
  • Explain why you do the work you do, and/or
  • Share how to know if now is the right time to work with you (what is someone feeling or experiencing when they could most use your services?)
  • Give a brief overview of what’s really special about this offer and how you help.
  • Give the bird’s eye view of the offer details
  • Share how to sign up or get questions answered
  • Invite the reader. Say you’d love to work with them.
  • Sign off + your bio

Write these things in a casual tone - the way you would speak if you were describing your work to a friend or family member. (Read it out loud if you’re not sure.)

Welcoming people and explaining your work like this really does make a difference.

Also, the process of writing the few sentences needed to address each bullet point above is a clarifying (and intense, challenging, and more time consuming that it seems like should be…) process.

Maybe give it a try this week?

Warmly,

Camille
