Happy Days – Week FiftyThree
Main focus that week was starting the prep of getting our house ready for sale, trying to take bites out each day.
Autumn, grey skies, chillier temps, but it sure can be pretty.
November 10 – Day 367
This is how the tiles in the patio look once they’re dry. Not bad. If I made time to do more, they might even look better, just not sure I’ll have the time before the house goes on the market in January.
November 11 – Day 368
This is the “short-cut” to the grocery store and the path is lined with oak trees on both sides and down the middle. My pictures never do the view justice to the endless perspective of the trees going in the distance, but I keep on trying.
November 12 – Day 369
Went for another morning walk in MaximaPark with the women’s group and this scene of morning “sunrise” was at 9:00 am. The white ducks in front of the swan boats was just the chef’s kiss.

Starting to make our house look like a catalogue for the real-estate photoshoot in early December. The photographer told us what to de-clutter and for our books to be sorted by color which is aesthetically pleasing and not distracting when looking at the house photos online.
November 13 – Day 370
Internet Archive Amsterdam HQ was gifted a beautiful old globe for our offices and I went to Amsterdam to receive it. Such a thoughtful gift from a great supporter of open knowledge and culture.
November 14 – Day 371
These are the games we left for our amusement over the period of time before we move house in April. I took this photo to show the women in our group what games we still had as I was hosting our monthly board-game group. We ended up playing Qwixx and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
November 15 – Day 372
We had friends over for a lovely afternoon lunch. While we were preparing, David made this “map” of all the Carcassonne pieces, pretty ingenious.
For TWO YEARS! we had been trying to have an afternoon together with our friends. Between full schedules and sick kids when we finally had dates picked, it took way longer than any of us wanted. We had of course seen each other in other social settings, but getting both our complete families to sit down for a meal was challenging. So glad it finally happened.
November 16 – Day 373
I bought a frozen Butterball turkey at Kelly’s Expat store in Utrecht and took this photo on the freezer for reference for cooking later at the end of the month when my folks would be here to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Definitely happy to have them around to help us celebrate before they go back to the USA. It has become our yearly tradition and I love it.
This interpretation is hauntingly beautiful. Each instrument nails it. The guitar plays differently than expected - much more of a Latin feel - and the cello adds an incredible depth to this music. Enjoy.
