Happy Days – 2026 – Week 10
Spring started to think about showing herself this week
This week was book-ended with an important work event and then a really lovely social event. In between was a lot of busy work for work, home, country and community.

The first week of March started off with an important event at IAE HQ in conjunction with Creative Commons talking about their Open Heritage Statement. This event was months in the making and went off well. I was in charge of it, but also in it, so that was a bit awkward and rushed, but it all came together in the end thanks to others helping out as well.

Full day in Amsterdam and into the night, but even though tiring, I came away a “good” tired. I even got to see the full moon over Amsterdam.
Mar 3 – Day 61

I worked from home and it was a deceptively gorgeous spring day - beautiful and even warm enough for us to have lunch outside in our front garden. This little pot of flowers we bought to spruce up the place for showing in January, was still going beautifully.
Mar 4 – Day 62

Wednesdays I drive three boys and another parent to tennis lessons about 15-20 mins away and the sunset on the ride back was intense.
Mar 5 – Day 63

Tulips I got for the work event on Monday were still going beautifully on Thursday and made for a calm and chill scene at the office.
Mar 6 – Day 64

The front window frame of the house needed replacing and we finally got it done. We didn’t want to leave it in bad shape for the new buyers so we got it taken care of. It took months for it all to happen, but it eventually did, so yay!

I showed up at the women’s monthly pub night for the first time in eight years. I knew almost everyone there, but they were quite shocked to see me as I had never shown up before. But, I needed the girl time, the delightful drink and the fun company.
Mar 7 – Day 65
Saturday night we went over to a friend’s house for an incredible evening of music making, BBQ dinner and just chilling. There is something about Argentine parties - the vibe is so relaxed and I’m not “on”. It’s hard to describe, but I am able to let myself forget all my responsibilities for a moment in time and just be. Maybe it’s because there is no “end-time” of Argentine parties, unlike Dutch parties where you go from XX:00-YY:00.

It’s been a very long time since I have made music with others and I loved it. I felt like an “adult” again, instead of a Mom at a party with friends without duties. David was there with us, but he’s reached an age where he is very much able to take care of himself a lot of the time and doesn’t need so much “minding”.

Mar 8 – Day 66
Sunday afternoon Santi and I went for a brisk spring walk around our neighborhood and nature is starting to think about putting on her show. Had to stop and take some photos.

Santi shared this gorgeous musical performance in the most beautiful book store of the world - El Ateneo in Buenos Aires.
I had a cassette tape of music I called “Space Music” that I had taped off the public radio as a teenager and it included this weird hauntingly gorgeous music I thought sounded otherworldly. I listened to this tape for years (until I left in 2006) - it helped me go to sleep. Turned out it was Piazzolla doing his thing and I had no idea how tango would fit into my life all these years later. Enjoy this trip!

Love it - spring time - the tulips and then the concert in THAT book store - truly memorable.
