2025 Spooky Season Spooktacular Wrap-Up
Hey all, happy November! We’ve got another Spooky Season Spooktacular in the books, and that’s worth celebrating, so let’s get into a little wrap-up and discussion of plans for this next little bit. First, though, I would like to remind y’all that today is the last day of SNAP benefits being in effect, so please donate (food or money, whatever you can) to your local food pantry, and volunteer there as well if you can. There are GoFundMes all over, and the Instagram account @castonacouch has a bunch of links. Please do what you can.
So, the Spooky Season Spooktacular this year did go great. I got everything out on time, which is an improvement from last year, and I had enough free days to schedule everything so that I didn’t completely crash. All in all, it was a success! I loved writing about witches, you all loved reading about them, it was a nice little symbiotic thing. So, what’s the plan for next year?
First of all, I said that this year I’d cut the number of posts in half. That was a lie, clearly, and next year I might add even more depending on what y’all vote on. Speaking of…the options for next year will be announced on my Instagram this after noon, so head on over there (@blaisebalas) to start thinking on what you’ll want to read about! There might (maybe) be three posts a week, seeing as this year’s two a week went so well, but we’ll see what my schedule’s like.
As for the next little while, I’ll be treating y’all to some winter and holiday horror as the days get shorter and the cheeriest season approaches. Expect The Shining, Fargo, etc. Might dig around for some Christmas horror that I didn’t do last year, even some books, probably. So that’s the plan, such as it is.
Thanks for reading along this October, I hope you enjoyed all the witches I had to offer. And if you didn’t, I have it on good authority that Maggie Stiefvater, one of my favorite authors ever and the creator of The Raven Cycle and the Dreamer Trilogy might have read the post about it, so really, what else matters? In all sincerity though, thanks for being faithful readers this month and all others. Let’s keep this thing going, shall we?
So happy November, happy NO end to spooky season because it’s year-round in this house, happy reading, and stay spooky! 🐈⬛🎃🧹💚🔪🩸
