how do people even do newsletters? like write on a consistent basis about stuff they care about? i care about a lot of things but when i know i have to write about it, i try to convince myself i care a little less about it. like an amount that makes it less pressing for me to share my thoughts about.
i think about how toni morrison said something about we never let ourselves be wrong, and how there’s a certain amount of punishment that comes, especially within social media, because it’s so much easier to be this or that rather than a nuanced living changing thing. it makes me hesitant to try stuff like this out because who all comin? who all stayin? how does that change how i approach writing? why do i let it?
