Team,
Thanks for hanging in here. I've gotten through all the "collected in 2020 but never sent" folders. Now I'm, well, I'm still behind, but I have some more recollection and intention to these coming collections. Starting with MM020 we're in 2021!
Without further ado here is MM020
Current CO2 PPM: 417.07 ppm
(We need to get back to at least 350 — but 275ppm or so is probably preferable!)
Season 3 begins... This 20th collection of Miscellaneous Materials is a hodgepodge as per usual. These pdfs and links and such were collected over January 2021.
Welcome to the Miscellaneous Materials Reading Club Collection MM020.
In the 34 items collected this time around themes range from motion and machinery in art works (2_moma_catalogue_2776_300292931-pdf.pdf > which I found trying to track down some more info on a couple of examples I show in a motion design class), to how to repair your shoes (3_shoe-repairers-manual-pdf.pdf), to thinking through the morality of artifacts (5_design-ethics-and-the-morality-of-technologic....pdf), to alternative nows (11_a-guidebook-of-alternative-nows-pdf.pdf)… There are some technical papers about AI/Machine learning in design contexts (17_cvpr2015-pdf.pdf & 17_main-pdf.pdf & 30_designlayout-pdf.pdf). There are some musings on utopia, city-less life, and some other techno, sustaino, enviro kinds of things. How to look into the future and how to de-chronologize the past. I even came across a paper about adding color to motion pictures (31_colorconsultants_colorconsciousness-pdf.pdf)
Oh! and there are the instructions and necessary sheets for a role playing game to learn roberts rules of order... (Rules and Roberts folder)
Thanks. So! Get to reading, and as always, let me know what you found interesting.
