Miscellaneous Materials 003

Collection 003 of the Miscellaneous Materials Reading Club was intended to focus on and around the ethics of designing; but as per my nature it is mostly filled with essays/articles/papers about sustainability … MM003 mostly focuses on ethics & sustainability and where those overlap with designing. I've tried to curate a little bit better this time around — there is a more refined and limited scope to the PDFs. Though there are still some randoms tossed in there.

Expect collections 004 and 005 to be coming in slightly quicker succession — due to the gap since Collection MM002, I way over collected for MM003, so I already mostly have those collections ready to roll out.
Please email me with ideas, questions, discussion topics, whatever — and let me know if there is some other ways this “reading club” can be useful. Anything you like, don't like, want more of, let me know.
I'm also working on writing up a few things: an explanation of the PiTop/Axidraw drawing machine I've used a few times; why designer's don't open source (and why they should try harder); a writeup of a lecture I gave at graduation for the parents of our graphic design seniors; and a few other tidbits I'll be rolling out as these reading collections hit your inboxes.
A lot going on this summer.
Enjoy your reading.
