Agoda's new AI assistant books your trip while it talks
Two new launches today — a global travel giant's AI that books your trip while it talks, and a marketing platform's support bot that now closes the sale — plus a mixed reception finding for Revolut's money assistant in Spain, and a five-platform check-in with a genuine split verdict: Sprinklr's earnings are up, but Gartner just called its conversational AI a niche player.
New launches
Booking Holdings' Agoda opens a conversational AI trip planner that books as it talks
Major global online travel agency (hotels, flights, activities) under Booking Holdings, a Fortune 500 company.
Agoda began a limited public beta of an in-app AI Assistant that turns free-text travel ideas into bookable, personalized trips, connected to Agoda's live inventory of 6M+ accommodations plus flights and activities. It retains user preferences and trip context across a session so users can pick up where they left off, and for complex asks (e.g. “family trip with teenagers”) pulls in Google's Grounding with Google Maps for real-time ratings, photos, and hours.
How to try it: Limited public beta on the Agoda mobile app, rolling out gradually to more users over the coming months.

HubSpot's Customer Agent adds in-chat payments and invoices to its AI support bot for SMB customer service
Widely-used marketing/CRM/customer-service software platform adopted by SMB and midmarket businesses worldwide.
At HubSpot's Fall 2026 Spotlight event, HubSpot's Customer Agent — an AI agent HubSpot's business customers deploy to talk to their own end customers — gained purchase-intent detection that sends a payment link in the same channel (chat, email, or WhatsApp) without a human rep, the ability to find and send invoices and resolve billing questions in-channel, and expansion to nine supported channels including WhatsApp, SMS, Facebook Messenger, and a new beta voice/calling channel.

New reception finding
Revolut's AIR assistant: more guide than autopilot, per independent testing
Global neobank/fintech with 50M+ customers, one of Europe's largest fintech unicorns.
Launched 4 days ago (September 2026): No Spain-specific reception coverage has appeared yet, but an independent hands-on UX review of the same AIR assistant's earlier UK rollout (Craft Innovations, testing 50+ user flows) found mixed results — AIR completes some tasks end-to-end (an eSIM purchase, a refund) but for others, like currency exchange, it “behaves more like a guide than an execution engine,” explaining the steps rather than completing them autonomously. General Revolut app sentiment (not AIR-specific) is positive on UX and multi-currency handling but has recurring complaints about AI-only support with no human escalation path on fraud/dispute cases. Sentiment: mixed.

Platform Watch
- Sprinklr: a split verdict this update — Q2 FY2027 earnings (Sept 2) showed AI-native SKU ARR up 40% year-over-year and steady 102% net-dollar-expansion, plus a new board seat for Microsoft's Jordi Ribas (President of Search & AI). But Gartner's separate 2026 Magic Quadrant for Conversational AI Platforms — a different category than the Voice-of-Customer MQ where Sprinklr leads — places it as a Niche Player, citing usage skewed toward website chat, cloud-only limits, and weaker marketing execution than peers; an independent CX Today analysis separately questions whether customers' own workflows can keep pace with Sprinklr's AI rollout.
