Bishop FM Daytime & Alan's Fundraising Walk

An update about news and weather in daytime, and Alan's fundraising walk.

Hello members,

From Monday 7th October we are changing how the Local News and Weather is presented.

Local News is going to be shorter and is being moved to the TOTH (straight after the national news) in the weekday breakfast (7am, 8am, 9am) and drivetime (4pm, 5pm).

The news will be followed by a Local Weather bulletin (7am - 6pm) and the National Weather bulletins outside of these hours.

Local News and Weather will continue to be recorded by Kieran McCormick and Gillian Campbell, but we're always looking for new members... so please get in touch if you're interested in joining the News Team.

Please contact newsroom@bishopfm.com if you have any questions.

Alan's Fundraising Walk

In order to raise much much needed funds our very own Drivetime presenter Alan Knowles swapped his talking boots for walking boots.

On Saturday 28th September he set off from Heighington and hiked to Durham Cathedral, a distance of over 20 miles!

Alan also passed through Newton Aycliffe, Shildon and Bishop FM studios on the way.

Part of this walk followed the way of light which is the route that pilgrims took when taking St. Cuthbert’s remains to Durham Cathedral.

Kind regards,

James Burrage
